Frames are HTML tags that make a web site appear to have two or more pages open simultaneously. While these tags can improve navigation within the site, most search engines index framed sites incorrectly or not at all. Frames consist of a parent frame and at least one child frame (but can be multiple child frames) defined by the parent frame. Frames were designed in order to layout web pages on the screen. Frames, like a four pane window, are compartments in a window to display different html pages.
